Position Overview

Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and assisting in closing business opportunities. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business development opportunities for the company and helping the Sales team expand beyond its core clientele. This person will identify and qualify attractive new sales leads in the independent and non-traditional film/TV market, including digital and reality TV production. Essential Functions

  • Monitor industry trades for new developments in the independent and non-traditional film/TV market and investigate leads to determine viable opportunities and next steps
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
  • Manage development pipeline of new prospects, including hand-off to Sales team where applicable, and tracking of progress via Salesforce
  • Establish and develop relationships with qualified leads, and join Sales team on sales calls
  • Screens potential business deals and new lines of sales opportunities by analyzing market strategies
  • Work closely with SVP of Sales & Marketing and sales team to close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred with a minimum of three years related experience
  • Multi-level relationship building skills
